	I'm so inadequate.

You see, it's quite simple. I support sexual freedom and think that women are people too. Actually, I've been living in sin with my girlfriend for over four years. I think your kids should play violent video games thereby making it easy to kill those who disagree with them. I support drug legalization and laws based on common sense and compmassion. I reject the idea that some people are more entitled to wealth than others simply because they're white and educated. The WTO and IMF are evil. So-called Christians who believe they must make everyone believe just as they believe are evil. Finally, to make it even worse, I work for the church.

	I guess that must be a relative term, because I'm no longer aggressive in my view. Maybe you don't get the joke. Poking fun of a label, of a box that someone(unnamed) puts me and everyone in. It's the same kind of idea as making generalizations about any group. Ya ne durak. Za vashe zdrovye.

	I hope this doesn't turn into a hardcore discussion of semantics, but that's exactly what I meant. I am a person who is not an "aggressive atheist". As I stated before, I got over that in junior high and high school. And you can say it over and over again but I won't grow out of it. I'm an adult and it's an adult decision. PFFFFTTT

	Most Americans I know don't grow out of aggresive atheism until their junior year in college (about 20 or 21). The Russian immigrants I've known seemed slightly ahead, but not so young as 16-17. I find that figure impressive.

	i've never seen anybody grow out of aggressive atheism. i have seen some people fake it in order to sleep with christian girls, though.

	Most atheists go through this phase where they're listening to Trent Reznor and reading Nietzsche, and have this whole attitude of "God doesn't exist and I'm really fucking pissed about it." Surely you've known people to get over that? They typically resolve into a more passive style of atheism, where they don't believe in God and don't really care, although some become agnostic, and some get religious again. For most of them, it's not until midway through college that they really get over it (although everyone calms down alot immediately after leaving high school). Of course, the sleeping with Christians thing works too.

	I guess this is shocking to you, but no I haven't known people like that. Where I 'grew-up', there weren't really atheists, and there weren't really people that listened to Trent Reznor, except for the really smelly people (who I obviously avoided). Not that I don't like some of his music, but it was never a big cultural phenomenon in my high school. Most of the atheists I know are a bit like me, except for a little bit less offensive with it. In fact they were never very aggressive about it, but very sure of it I guess.

	I'm not talking about changing religious beliefs, I'm talking about losing the offensive adolescent attitude that God and society owes you something. There are some people who simply don't believe in God; that's fine. 	I'm Canadian, and I started to take religion seriously again when I was about 20 years old. It helped that I have a great mentor who is a religious man. To be fair, so many North American "Christians" are so obnoxious, heretical, and vocal that they turn many away from spirituality. Nathan -- Li'l Sis: Yo, that's a real grey area.
