Recently I ventured to post a comment
at the notorious troll haven, slash.dot, after an
absence of many months, probably over a year. I
guess I was just curious if it was as degenerate
a place as it used to be.

I'll say! My words only survived a ten or twenty
minutes before being attacked by one of the
notorious slash.dot trolls, who modded it into
oblivion. Even in that short time, no less than
FIVE slash.dotters were intrigued enough to want
to converse with me further. Had any of them
thought my ideas lacked merit, they would have
just ignored me, but clearly they sensed an
opportunity for a stimulating converstaion. Indeed,
the small seed I planted blossomed into a round-
table of give and take comparable, I dare say, to
 Plato's Symposium.

But slash.dot's trolls don't care about conversation, or ideas. It took only ONE of them to decide that my ideas were too dangerous and threatening, in spite of the many who wanted more from me. It's easy to forget how much evil takes place on the Internet outside of the Olympian country of Adequacy.org I think I shall post a diary at slash.dot announcing that I am leaving forever, and would like all my previous comments and diaries deleted. I tried, but the trolling at slash.dot is just too much for me.
By the way, I bet none of you knew that I choose
my Emily Dickinson poems entirely at random, did
you? Emily's like my oracle. She always gives
me something insightful for any situation. |
